CLIP Overview

CLIP is an innovative research study that looks at how to reduce the prevalence of high blood pressure among Black men. CLIP's team of researchers works within 22 barbershops in Staten Island, New York City to screen Black men for high blood pressure and link them to care. The CLIP team will also be conducting three phases of the study to test various interventions. CLIP's goal is to provide evidence-based solutions that improve the health of Black men in our community.

CLIP and CHASI

Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) has served tens of thousands of Staten Islanders annually for the past 30 years with a range of culturally responsive supportive services for harm reduction, domestic violence, care management, food insecurity, health screenings and testing all free of charge.  CHASI is the primary partner for intervention delivery of CLIP, providing dedicated community health workers in participating barbershops and the surrounding community for the recruitment, retention, health education, and linkage to care for CLIP participants.
